Welcome to azanorak.com

What is an anorak?

There are many sites on the web that celebrate the era of the offshore radio stations, with photos, histories of various stations, DJ profiles, etc.  This site, founded in Arizona, USA, was created to be an archive of off-air recordings of the stations themselves, and of the best known station ~ Radio Caroline ~ in particular.  Hence, there are no fancy graphics, just a wealth of archive recordings available for easy download through your browser.

Note:  All the recordings have been provided by the members of the “RadioCarolineMailingList” group on Yahoo! Groups, and are from their own private collections.

New recordings are added daily, but are only publicized on the above Yahoo! Group.  Most recordings are in mp3 format within password-protected .zip files.  The password is only available to members of the above Yahoo! Group.  If you find the material here interesting, it is strongly recommended that you join that Group, to keep abreast of our updates.  To do so, go to:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/RadioCarolineMailinglist/

and click the “Join This Group!” button.

All recordings are in English unless otherwise stated.

To download a file using Firefox (recommended), simply left click once on a file link, and a window will open asking you whether you want to save or open the file.

To download a file using IE7, right click on a file link and choose "Save Target As".

To see what has been posted in the last TWO WEEKS:

Click here for new recordings of stations from the 60’s to the 90’s, and new documentary or tribute shows about them.

Click here for new recordings of stations from 2000 on, including all the output of present-day Radio Caroline (enabling you to “LISTEN AGAIN”).

Radio Caroline broadcasts 24x7 from studios in Kent, England.  From 7am – Midnight (UK time), most shows are presented live.  To listen live or to see a current programme schedule, click on the banner at the top of this page.

The main AZANORAK archives are sorted with all the recordings of a particular station typically stored in a single folder.  You can see what we have by clicking on a station name below.  Return to this page by clicking “Home” at the top of the bar on the right.
